Flooding in New Orleans

Severe thunderstorms prompted tornado warnings and inundated downtown New Orleans yesterday morning, reports Accuweather.

It caused travel disruptions and forced the closure of City Hall.  A flash flood emergency was also declared in Jefferson Parish.

Southern Louisiana will be at the greatest risk of flooding this weekend.

Some departures from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport were delayed due to the storms and buses and trams were at a standstill.
