Jamaica extends state of emergency

Jamaica has extended a state of emergency, which covers the popular tourist areas of Montego Bay and Negril, until mid-August, reports Travel Mole.

It was introduced in May, initially just for 14 days, following a rise in serious crimes, including murders.

A separate state of emergency is also in place in part of the parish of St Andrew, which includes areas of the capital, Kingston, until July 21.
