Additional storms bearing rain and high-elevation snow will take aim at California, the rest of the Pacific coast and the interior western United States into the Memorial Day weekend, reports Accuweather.
The storm will produce pockets of rain and thunderstorms today across parts of Nevada, Utah, northern Arizona, New Mexico Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.
Rain is likely to begin falling along the coast of Northern California, Oregon and Washington's Olympic Peninsula tonight.
The heaviest rain this weekend is likely to fall on Northern California and along the lower western slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
Snow is expected in the Sierra Nevada, and snow will be mixed with rain at times over parts of central and northern Nevada.
The rounds of rain will slow travel on the roads and at the airports.
