The City of Cape Town has been granted a court interdict against MyCiTi bus drivers who have illegally gone on strike, EWN says.
Striking MyCiTi workers are demanding to be employed by the municipality, instead of the Vehicle Operating Companies.
The interdict prevents the striking drivers from intimidating, harassing or assaulting MyCiTi passengers and staff, or from damaging infrastructure. They are also not allowed within 100m of MyCiTi stations, depots or buses.
The strike has been taking place since Monday and it is not currently known how long the action will last.
