The operator of Kansai International Airport in Osaka plans to reopen part of Terminal 1 tomorrow, September 14, Reuters says.
The terminal has been closed since the airport was flooded by a typhoon on September 4.
The operator began checking the status of the electrical system in Terminal 1 late Wednesday. Officials say repairs of flooded electrical facilities in the basement are almost complete.
The operator earlier partially reopened the less damaged Terminal 2 to resume some domestic and international flights. However, the number of flights to and from Kansai International Airport has shrunk to less than 20% of the usual level.
