American Airlines will make Cancun International its next cash-free airport, according to TravelMole.
From August 20, AA will no longer accept cash payments for airline tickets or checked baggage at the airport.
Only credit and debit cards will be accepted.
The move will reportedly speed up staff interactions with passengers.
American began transitioning to a cashless model last year and has initiated cash payment restrictions at several airports including New York's JFK and LaGuardia airports, Los Angeles, Miami and Dallas Fort Worth.
It will also roll it out in Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Cozumel in the future.
