Baggage handlers in talks to avert strike

London Luton Airport baggage handlers are having last minute talks to avoid the upcoming bank holiday strike, TravelMole claims.

If they fail to reach an agreement, Unite is threatening workers will walk out from 03h00 on Saturday, May 26, to 14h00 on Sunday.

The strike will affect passengers flying with easyJet, Vueling, Jet2, Air Nostrum, Blue Air and TAROM.

Separately, workers including firefighters and security guards employed by Luton Airport have postponed planned industrial action, which was due to begin tomorrow, May 25, after bosses put a revised pay offer on the table.
