Further rail strikes announced

Workers from two UK rail companies will go on strike next month as part of the continuing row over driver-only operated trains, BBC reports.

Arriva Rail North (Northern) and Merseyrail workers in the RMT union will walk out on March 3.

The union says scrapping guards and introducing driver-only operated trains risks passenger safety.

Travellers should anticipate significant delays on the days and allow extra time to get to the airport.
