Dense fog to disrupt December flights

Flight schedules could be disrupted in Delhi this month as the weather department has predicted the onset of dense winter fog after December 17, Hindustan Times claims.

The meteorological office also said on Thursday the situation at the Indira Gandhi International Airport might worsen in January, a month that records heavy fog which reduces visibility.

Flights are affected when runway visibility dips below 500m.

Airport officials said they are better equipped to handle low visibility this season in a new opened terminal.

Travellers heading to or leaving Delhi from December 17 are advised to check the status of their flight in advance.
