SWISS showcases upgraded aircraft

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) held a press event at OR Tambo on Friday, October 11, to showcase its newly refurbished Airbus A340 aircraft.
The aircraft, which is part of the long-haul fleet that will service the Zurich-Johannesburg route, has undergone a complete cabin refurbishment.
Upgraded features include new lighting and entertainment systems, in-flight WiFi and amenity kits.
Refurbishments have been completed on three of the airline’s five A340 aircraft, with refurbishments on the two remaining aircraft to be completed by mid-2020.
The aircraft has 47 business-class seats, eight first-class seats and 168 seats in economy class with a configuration of 2-4-2 in economy and 1-2-1 in first class. Business class is configured in alternate rows of 1-2-1 and 2-2-1.
