Gatwick Airport launches Facebook Messenger chatbot

Gatwick Airport has launched a 'Gatwick chatbot' on Facebook Messenger to provide passengers with easy access to information before and during a trip.


Called ‘Gail’, the chatbot is able to understand and answer 80% of the questions it receives, it can inform travellers with live notifications about their flights, help them find a suitable restaurant and give information on airport shops and other facilities.


It will be tested on platforms such as WhatsApp and Apple Business Messenger and the service will be offered in different languages from next year.
