SAA adds more Accra, cuts Dakar

South African Airways is growing its presence in Ghana by increasing weekly frequencies between Johannesburg and Accra from nine to ten flights, effective September 5.

Following the airline’s partnership with Ghana-based Africa World Airlines (AWA) in February this year, SAA has worked to strengthen services to Accra. To this end, SAA’s services to Dakar will be suspended, effective September 5.

This new development also means that all SAA’s daily flights to Washington DC will fly via Accra. Previously, some of these flights flew via Dakar.

The new flight schedule is as follows:

Flight SA209 departs JNB daily at 18h10, arriving in ACC at 22h35. The flight departs ACC at 23h35, landing in IAD at 06h25 the following day. Return flight SA210 departs IAD daily at 17h40, arriving in ACC at 08h10 the following day. It departs ACC at 09h10, arriving in JNB at 16h55.

Flight SA056 departs JNB on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 13h05, arriving in ACC at 17h10. It departs ACC at 18h10, arriving in ABJ at 19h10. Return flight SA057 departs ABJ on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 20h20, arriving in ACC at 21h20. It departs ACC at 22h20, arriving in JNB at 06h05 the following day.
