Gulf carrier unbundles business class fares

Emirates has started to sell unbundled business-class fares.

The airline is selling lower-priced tickets for business class without amenities usually included in bundled fares, such as lounge access (if the passenger doesn’t have access with Emirates Skywards), chauffeur transfers, points upgrades to first class and ticket cancellation.

Emirates has labelled the cheaper business-class fares as ‘special’ offered on certain routes based on seasonal trends in travel demand. Passengers booked on this business-class ‘special’ fare will continue to receive services and products on board including a baggage allowance of up to 40kg and priority boarding.

As yet, the special fare is not applicable on South African routes.
