SAX squashes liquidation rumours

SA Express has allayed fears of imminent liquidation.

The airline said in a statement that ‘false rumours’ of SAX’s liquidation have been circulating as a result of court action that has been brought against the airline by one of its service providers.

SAX Chairperson, Tryphosa Ramano, says the board is excited about its progress, despite “concerted efforts by competitors and detractors to destabilise the airline”.

Ramano adds that “those entities which had irregular dealings with the airline are unhappy that their contracts are under review under SAX’s new Board and Management”.

SAX says in the statement that employees who have been found guilty after the airline laid various charges against them, have had their contracts of employment terminated. In cases where these activities are related to alleged criminal offences, criminal cases have been opened and the airline will be pursuing the legal route to recover any losses incurred due to these activities.
