Top 10 most expensive business destinations

London has re-entered a list of the top-ten most expensive cities for business travel.
London tied with Bern, Switzerland, for tenth place on this year’s list, which is based on research by global mobility specialist ECA International. On average, the total cost of a business trip in London now costs US$574 (R8 090) a day, with the average price of a four-star hotel hitting $324 (R4 570) a night.
In Europe, Swiss cities continue to dominate the top ten, with Geneva, Zurich, Basel and Bern all among the most expensive European locations for business travel. Iceland’s capital Reykjavik ($615-R8 670) moves ahead of cities such as London to make it the fourth most expensive location in Europe for business travel.
According to the research, New York City is the most expensive destination in the world for business travellers, with the average trip costing $799 (R11 258) per day which is far more than Geneva, which follows at $719 (R10 135) a day.
For the second successive year Hong Kong has been ranked the most expensive location in Asia. The average business trip to Hong Kong costs an overall total of $515 (R7 260) per day. Tokyo remains second in the Asia rankings, with a business trip now costing $494 (R6 960) a day.
