Monday Smile: Flight lands at wrong airport due to GPS fail

A Scandinavian Airlines flight that had been due to land in Bologna, ended up landing 105km away in Florence instead, after an error with the GPS system.

The flight had been scheduled to leave Copenhagen at lunchtime, but when the pilots prepared for departure, they discovered that the aircraft did not have a programmed flight to Florence, meaning that the aircraft was unable to fly there.

The flight was initially delayed as the airline tried to rectify the problem, but it was finally decided that the aircraft should take off anyway with the passengers being bused from Bologna all the way to Florence.
