Iberia entertainment goes virtual

Iberia is trialling Inflight VR, to incorporate virtual reality glasses and 3D content into its inflight entertainment offering.

The virtual reality offering will be available, following a trial period, on the airline’s two daily flights to New York, operated by an A350-900, and on its Madrid-Tel Aviv route, operated daily with by an A330-220.

The glasses can be rented as part of the offer of ‘duty free’ products on the above flights. Content will include games, movies, city tour guides, or documentaries.

Iberia and Inflight VR have signed a collaboration agreement for six months and, after the results of the trial have been evaluated, the roll-out of the offering on to other long- and medium-haul routes will be decided.
