Turkish signs codeshare with LCC


Turkish Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with Indian domestic carrier, IndiGo. The agreement will allow passengers to connect easily between Istanbul and destinations within India.

This is IndiGo’s first international codeshare agreement and is also timeous, as plans for a direct Delhi-Istanbul flight have been announced, with an IndiGo official saying the route will be launched at the end of March. IndiGo operates to 59 destinations from its hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, with regional bases in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

With the codeshare, Turkish Airlines can now place its TK code on domestic routes within India, while IndiGo will place its 6E code on 20 routes out of Istanbul.
