Travellers to the DRC are being warned that internet and network facilities have been shut down, nationwide.
Government ordered internet providers operating in the country to suspend services on December 31 pending the outcome of the election. Initially, government officials had said internet would be restored following the release of interim election results, which were due to be released on January 6, but have since been postponed.
Travellers have been warned against all but essential travel to the country, and advised to avoid all travel to certain eastern and northeastern regions. For more information, click here.
