SAA adds another ancillary


South African Airways has released new chargeable advance seat reservation rates for international bookings, effective immediately. 

The airline first introduced Advance Seat Reservation in 2015, and passengers that previously could not select seats until time of check-in are now able to do so at a small fee.  For the booking classes that were able to select a seat this still remained free of charge, SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali told Travel and Meetings Buyer

Fares for the emergency exit, extra leg-room and all other seats on all international flights to the following destinations is as follows:

From Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Munich, New York, Perth, São Paulo and Washington DC to Johannesburg customers will now pay US$80, $45 and $30 respectively. For travel from Johannesburg to Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Munich, New York, Perth, São Paulo and Washington DC passengers will pay R850, R400, R350.

Those travelling between Dakar, Accra and Washington will pay US$80, $45 and $30.

On all domestic flights between Cape Town, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg, customers will pay R132 for the emergency exit seat, R71 for an extra leg-room seat and R51 for all other seats.

Fares for the emergency exit, extra leg-room and all other seats on all regional flights to the following destinations is as follows:

From Blantyre, Harare, Livingstone, Lilongwe, Lusaka, Maputo, Ndola, Victoria Falls and Windhoek to Johannesburg customers will be charged US$28, $15 and $10 respectively.

Customers travelling from Johannesburg to Blantyre, Harare, Livingstone, Lilongwe, Lusaka, Maputo, Ndola, Victoria Falls and Windhoek will pay R220, R100 and R70 respectively.

Passengers travelling from Dar es Salaam, Entebbe, Kinshasa and Nairobi to Johannesburg will pay US$29, $15 and $10 respectively. For travel from Johannesburg to Dar es Salaam, Entebbe, Kinshasa and Nairobi, customers will pay R300, R120 and R90.

Those travelling from Luanda /Mauritius to Johannesburg will need to pay US$30, $15 and $10. Travel from Johannesburg to Luanda / Mauritius will cost clients R450, R180, and R120 respectively.

For travel from Abidjan, Accra, Dakar and Lagos to Johannesburg customers will pay US$ 38, $20, and $15 respectively. From Johannesburg to Abidjan, Accra, Dakar and Lagos customers will pay R480, R190, and R100 respectively.

Customers travelling within Africa between Accra and Abidjan will pay US$ 19, $10 and $5.
