BA unveils new lounge at JFK Terminal 7

British Airways has opened a new first-class lounge at New York JFK’s Terminal 7. The lounge is available to gold cardholders and customers travelling in first class.

The refurbishment forms part of a £52 million (R1bn) investment in the British Airways customer experience at Terminal 7.

The 509 sqm lounge features a new wine room where travellers can enjoy wines at the right temperature and experience ‘Flights of Wine’ – a selection of wines linked to a theme.

Other features include a bar with a range of premium beverages, a quiet work area and an upgraded dining room. A new boutique menu will include seasonal dishes and the ‘bowl food’ concept for passengers who opt for a light option before they fly.

The airline has upgraded the main concourse for all customers, adding extra seating in the gate areas and more power points for charging electronic devices.

Security and check-in zones have been redesigned to enhance the look and feel of the terminal and speed up travelling through the airport. Customers now also benefit from updated washrooms and a new customer service desk.

British Airways will complete its refurbishment of Terminal 7 in 2019 with the upgrade of the business-class lounge.
