Marriott gives staff personal alert devices

With a focus on safety, Marriott International recently made alert devices for staff a standard across its US and Canada portfolios, and is looking to use similar technology to improve the safety of its global hotel portfolio and workforce.

The devices will be made available to staff, and allows the location of the alert issuer to be pinpointed, a feature that, the press statement claims, has proved effective in scenarios where rapid response is critical.

While the device will no doubt be of benefit to staff, it can also be used to call for quick support if staff members see a guest in distress.
