Thailand: Flooding and evacuations expected

Thailand’s Petchaburi province is preparing for major floods in the next few days, which may lead to widespread evacuations, according to TravelMole.

Interior minister Anupong Paochinda said: "Four districts could be affected. The governor and local administration are preparing sandbags and water pumps.”

Tourism minister, Weerasak Kowsurat, added: "Operators and resort owners are aware of the situation. We will send an alert to tourists."

The region is about 160km southwest of Bangkok.
