UK: London pollution warning issued

A high air pollution warning has been issued in London for today, July 26, as the heatwave continues, according to the BBC.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, has said that the high temperatures, along with the city’s toxic air, a lack of cloud cover, and emissions from the continent meant pollution levels would be high.

Adults and children with lung or heart problems, as well as older people, are advised to reduce physical exertion, particularly outdoors. Those with asthma may have to use their inhalers more often.

Messages about the alert will be on bus countdown signs, roadside message boards, and all 270 tube stations.
