South Africa: Gautrain strikes set for next week
25 Jul 2018 - by
Gautrain workers affiliated with the United National Transport Union (Untu) are set to strike next week, according to IOL.
This comes after a deadlock in wage negotiations could not be resolved. Bombela, which operates the Gautrain, reportedly offered members an 8.5% increase but did not want to pay an incentive bonus to its employees.
Untu will give Bombela 48 hours’ notice that its members will hold a protected strike.
Further details are expected later this week.
