Etihad to launch second Spain service


Etihad Airways will start its second service to Spain with the introduction of flights to Barcelona, starting on November 21.

Etihad already operates a daily Madrid service, while the new Barcelona route will initially operate five times a week, increasing to a daily flight on March 31, 2019.

Peter Baumgartner, chief executive officer Etihad Airways, said: “As one of the largest unserved markets from our Abu Dhabi base, Barcelona has witnessed a significant increase in travel demand from the emirate, and from across our wider network.”

Effective November 21 the flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the following schedule:

Flight EY 49 will depart Abu Dhabi at 02h20, arriving in Barcelona at 06h45. Return flight EY 50 will depart Barcelona at 09h50, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 20h00.

The flights will be operated by an Airbus A330-200.
