KNP day visitor access during the festive season

South African National Parks (SANParks) is reminding all day visitors to the Kruger National Park over the coming festive season, starting on Thursday, December 7 until January 2, that day quotas once again apply at the entrance gates.
Visitors are urged to make pre-bookings for their visits prior to their arrival.
There are three time slots to choose from:
-Time slot 1: 05h30 to 07h30
-Time slot 2: 07h30 to 09h30
-Time slot 3: 09h30 onwards.
“The three different time slots are aimed at improving the spread of vehicles and, as far as possible, prevent unnecessary waiting periods at gates,” said the KNP’s GM: Communications and Marketing, William Mabasa.
The Day Visitor Quota for the park is a management tool to maintain the carrying capacity of the park and is always in place throughout the year, however SANParks enforces this during long weekends and holidays due to the high volumes of visitors during peak season times. Visitors will be able to book up to 80% of Day Visitor Quota per gate via SANParks Reservations offices and online at www.sanparks.org.
Pre-booked day visitors will get preference over non-booked day visitors at the gate but must ensure that they arrive within the time slots, as per their reservation. Arriving outside the booked time slot will be regarded as non-booked and therefore will not receive preference.
These bookings can be changed through SANParks Reservations offices.
Day visitors must take note that pre-bookings are subject to a non-refundable booking fee of R40 per adult and R20 per child. Day visitors who have pre-booked are still required to pay conservation fees, which for international guests are R328 per adult and R164 per child.
