14 Nov 2017 - by Staff reporter
Carlson Rezidor will debut in Cameroon when it opens the Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments Douala. Cameroon marks the 30th country in Africa for the Carlson Rezidor group. The hotel opening in 2019 will take the group’s African portfolio to 83 with 17 500 hotel rooms in operation or under construction.
“We are thrilled to be entering our 30th country in Africa and what better addition than Cameroon, the group’s key market in Central Africa,” said Andrew McLachlan, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group senior vice president, business development, Africa & Indian Ocean. “As the ideal showcase, the hotel will strongly support the demand for our Radisson Blu Hotel and Apartment product across the African region. Once open it will be the finest upper upscale product in the financial hub of Cameroon and an important addition to our Central African Radisson Blu portfolio.”
The 150-room hotel will be in the most sought-after business district of the economic capital. It will offer a mix of standard rooms as well as studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. All-day dining, a lobby bar and Destination Sky Bar and Restaurant will feature, as will a wellness spa and fitness centre. A conference room and four meeting rooms will comprise the meeting and events area. The hotel will be situated between the port and the main highway, allowing easy access to Douala International Airport and across the city.
