Oman: Airport expansion pushed back
14 Nov 2017 - by Staff reporter
The opening of a long-delayed expansion to Muscat International Airport has been pushed back to the middle of 2018, Gulf Business News says.
Authorities had announced in February that the new passenger terminal would open by the end of this year.
However, Oman Airports Management Company is now aiming to open the terminal by June 2018.
The new Muscat terminal has a capacity for 12 million passengers per year but airport officials intend to grow the airport’s capacity to 48 million through expansion work.
The terminal was originally due to open in 2014.
