Bali: Tourist attractions safe from volcanic activity
12 Oct 2017 - by Staff reporter
The Bali Tourism Board has said that, despite Mount Agung showing increased volcanic activity, 98% of the tourist attractions on the island remain safe to visit and will continue to be so, even in the event of an eruption.
If the volcano were to erupt, only a few of Bali’s tourist attractions – Pura Besakih, Tulamben, and Tirta Gangga - would be affected.
Kuta, Ubud, Nusa Dua, and Sanur are far from Mount Agung. Authorities believe that areas further than 12km from Mount Agung’s crater remain safe.
If Mount Agung erupts, the tourism board will provide various facilities to tourists, including free accommodation and transportation to the airport.
