The Westin Cape Town was named Africa and the Middle East’s 2016 Hotel of the Year at the Marriot Middle East and Africa BSMC Conference in Dubai in April.
Michael Liffmann, hotel manager at the Westin Cape Town said he was humbled by the award: “This is such an accomplished and an extraordinary achievement for the hotel.” At the event, Liffmann was named the Mustang gm of the year. Similarly, Taryn Player was named the Revenue Leader of the Year and Stacy Hopkins was awarded the President’s Award for Sales Excellence.
The Westin was up against 286 Marriot Hotels in the Middle East and Africa.
Liffmann concluded: “We are very proud of each of these members. They work incredibly hard to position The Westin as a leader in this industry and it’s always reassuring when hard work is rewarded and people are recognised.”
